My counsel for aspiring writers

Take it with a grain of salt. We are all unique individuals with unique challenges and ideas. To assume that one writer’s advice would work for all is simply preposterous. If this were the case, would we not all be authors already? Use what works for you. Cast aside the rest. This is perhaps the best counsel I can give.

The writing process

Plan and execute

Starting is easy. Can you finish?

World exploration

Do not build. Experience.

What makes them unique?

Writing dialogue

Fantasy is often not far from reality.

Magic systems

The art of wonder.

Tools and tech

Writing platforms

Honestly, I prefer Google docs.

Character concepting

Keep track of physical attributes.

World maps

Sometimes as simple as pen and paper.

Audio and visual

Taking words just another step further.

Writing habits

Set realistic goals

Consistency and accountability are key.

Consume entertainment

Learn from it.

Understand your purpose

Don’t just write for the money.

One step at a time

Revising comes later.

What makes you different?

Website

The foundation of growth.

Word of mouth

The way stories were meant to flourish.
